CHOOSING THE BEST SYSTEM FOR YOUR PROJECT

Choosing the best system

Cable management forms the backbone of most buildings and developments in the modern-day world, from aerospace, to data management, to car parking facilities and everything in between, without efficient cable management, these areas could be brought to a standstill.

When choosing a cable management solution for any project, large or small, there are a number of points to consider:

  1. Environment

Where will the cable management system be located? Is it for internal or external use? Does it require protection from the elements eg. Extreme heat or freezing temperatures, salt water spray, etc.

  1. Purpose

What type of cable will be contained within? Are they light weight? What load capacity is required? Is regular access required? Has an IP rating been specified?

  1. Aesthetics

Will the system be visible? Eg. Is it in an airport terminal with distant, high ceilings or does it form an integral element of edgy design within contemporary accommodation? Does it need to be a particular colour and/or finish?

  1. Cost

What is the budget for the project? Quality should never be compromised when choosing your cable management solution. Work with your suppliers to chose the most suitable product to match your requirements within your budget. Don’t forget to take into consideration any time and labour that will be saved by choosing a system which is quick and easy to install.

  1. Life-span

Is the cable management system a permanent, temporary or semi-permanent solution?

The answers to the above questions will help to determine the most suitable choice of product, and importantly, its finish, to meet the needs of your project.
